What are the Library opening hours?

    • From the 10th of Oct Term time: Monday to Thursday 8.45am-8.45pm, Friday 8.45am-4.45pm

    • Outside Term time: Monday to Friday 8.45am-4.45pm

What is ‘Ask a Librarian?’

    • ‘Ask a Librarian’ is a live webchat with a member of the library staff. Simply press ‘chat now’ to speak to one of the library team in real time. Outside of library hours, unanswered queries will be directed to the email address librarymail.donegal@atu.ie

What is the library email address?

    • Send us an email at librarymail.donegal@atu.ie.
      You can also scroll to the bottom of the library homepage, and click on the ‘Get in Touch’ button. This has a template you can fill in, and it will go to the library email: librarymail.donegal@atu.ie

How do I book a study room?

    • Students can book one of the 6 study rooms in advance using the ‘Book a Study Room’ button on the library homepage. It will open up a calendar, where you select a time and date, add a title for your booking, and select ‘Create’.
      To cancel a booking, click on the slot you reserved, and select ‘Delete x’ from the dropdown menu in the ‘More’ button. Pressing the ‘Cancel’ button will not cancel the booking.
      Rooms can be booked for a maximum of 3 hours.
      All study rooms have wireless tv access and whiteboards.

ATU Donegal Library Study Room Rules

    • Study rooms are for the use of students only
      Study rooms must be booked though the Library webpage
      Study rooms can be booked for a maximum of 3 hours per week
      Strictly no food or beverages in study rooms
      Study rooms are not soundproof, so please be considerate of other library users and noise levels.
      If the study room remains unoccupied 15 minutes after the start of booking time, it will be given to another student waiting for a study room. Please Delete your booking if you are not using the study room.

How do I check my library account?

    • Click on the ‘My Library Account’ button on the library home page. You have to log in with your student number where it says ‘Please click here to login’. The ‘Your summary’ tab on the left-hand side of the page shows what you have out on loan and when they are up for renewal or due back. ‘Your checkout history’ shows the items you borrowed previously.

What are the Book Loan Rules?

    • Undergraduates can borrow up to 4 normal loan books at a time. Books can be borrowed for 14 days and renewed twice for a further 14 days if not required by another user.

    • Postgraduates can borrow up to 10 normal loan books at a time. Books can be borrowed for 28 days and renewed once for a further 28 days if not required by another user.

How do I access past exam papers?

    • There are a number of links on the library homepage to past exam papers – scroll down to the middle of the library homepage and you will see an image of a sheet of paper with the word ‘Exam Papers’. The exam papers are organised by faculty. You can also access them using the drop-down ‘Collections’ tab on the library home page and selecting ‘Exam papers’.

How do I access Undergraduate and Postgraduate Theses?

    • Undergraduate: Use the drop-down ‘Collections’ tab on the library home page. Select ‘Theses’. You will see a large green button ‘ATU Donegal Undergraduate Theses’. There are no undergraduate theses in Research@THEA.

    • Postgraduate: Use the drop-down ‘Collections’ tab on the library home page. Select ‘Research@THEA’. Postgraduate theses can also be accessed on the library homepage – scroll down to the middle of the library homepage and you will see an image of a magnifying glass with the word ‘Research@THEA.
